The Town of Montague is hosting a community workshop for the Montague City Village Center Rezoning Project on Thursday, April 17 at the Great Falls Discovery Center, 2 Avenue A, Turner Falls, MA 01376. Doors open at 6:00pm and the presentation will start around 6:30pm. All are welcome!

The Town will provide light refreshments. Montague Community Television (MCTV) will record the meeting. For those who cannot attend the in-person meeting, a virtual presentation will be scheduled soon and the date and link to be announced on the 17th.

This workshop is the first meeting of this rezoning process for the former Farren Hospital site and the Rod Shop Road area. Community input from this workshop will drive decisions about the layout of the Farren site, types of buildings allowed, adaptive reuse options for the historic buildings on Rod Shop Road, and options for building and site design. The Town’s goal is to support thoughtful redevelopment that takes advantage of the proximity of public transit and the Canalside Rail Trail. We hope you can join us for the start of this important conversation!

This project is funded in part by the Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) and the Executive Office of Housing and livable Communities (EOHLC). Innes Associates, a planning and design firm based in Newburyport, is assisting the Town with this rezoning project.
