Over $10,000 in annual cost savings projected from a FY20 Green Communities Grant
A $52,500 FY20 Green Communities Grant from MA Department of Energy Resources was invested into retrofitting lighting and lighting controls at 3 municipal facilities: Sheffield Shool and Admin; Parks and Recreation Fieldhouse, and the Montague Police Station. The total projected energy savings is 59,599 Kwh and $10,549 in cost savings across the facilities.
Montague was one of the first Green Communities designated in the State in 2010. The program has brought in over $500,000 to Montague for 15 different energy efficiency projects in 7 municipal buildings. The town has reduced municipal energy consumption by over 20% since joining the program.
