Project Goals and Objectives:The Town is proposing ADA accessible compliant, pedestrian-oriented streetscape to Avenue A sidewalks located in the Village of Turners Falls. The project objectives are to replace aged and heaving brick sidewalks with a new brick and cement concourse designed to enhance longevity and accessibility; to replace aged traffic signals; and tp provide pedestrian scale lighting to enhance safety, accessibility, visual appeal & walkability.

151 - 171 Avenue A: Block with 1st floor storefronts: Gun Rack, A.H. Rist Insurance, Booska’s Flooring, and Apex Dental
101 - 131 Avenue A: Block with 1st floor storefronts: Pipione's Sport Shop, Great Falls Harvest, vacant space, Turners Falls Pizza, CT River Liquors, Great Hauls, former Black Cow Burger space, and Kharma Salon.

Public Meeting #1 - The Town held a Community Input Session on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. At this public meeting, residents reviewed the overall project goals and objectives, previous project phases, existing conditions, proposed designs under this project phase, and provided feedback to help guide this project.
Public Meeting #2 - Please join us on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 4:00 -5:30 PM for a virtual meeting via Zoom! At this public meeting, residents will have an opportunity to review the overall project goals and objectives, previous project phases, existing conditions, proposed designs under this project phase, and provide feedback to help guide this project.
Share your feedback! It is important to hear from residents to ensure that these proposed improvements meet the needs of Montague residents! Based on public comment, the Town wishes to submit this proposal as part of its FY2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application.
