2026 Annual Town Election Information
The Montague Annual Town Election is Tuesday, May 19th. Polling hours are from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM in all six precincts. If you would like to register to vote, or check which precinct you live in, please visit: https://www.sec.state.ma.us/OVR/

- Nomination papers must be returned by Wednesday, April 1, 2026, by 5:00 pm.
- Potential town wide offices need to obtain 34 signatures of registered voters from the “town at large” to be placed on the ballot.
- Potential town meeting members need to obtain 10 signatures from registered voters of their “home precinct” to be placed on the ballot.
The annual town election will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Nomination papers regarding school committee seats are provided by the Gill-Montague Superintendent of Schools at 35 Crocker Avenue, 863-9324.
The Town Clerks office is open Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and Wednesday 8:30 am to 6:30 pm. Town Hall is closed on Fridays.

Register to Vote:
To register by mail, you may download the voter registration form by clicking here: Online Voter Application (state.ma.us) The form must be completed, signed, and delivered to your local election official. Voter registration must be completed by Saturday, May 9, 2026 to vote in the Annual Town Election on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

ANNUAL TOWN ELECTION
Montague’s Annual Town Election is always on the third Tuesday of May
Voting hours at each polling location is from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
State law prohibits the display of political paraphernalia within 150 feet of the entrance to the polling location. Signs, stickers, and even lapel buttons are not permitted within this restricted zone. State regulations also prohibit political solicitation within the restricted zone.
Voters may take their own personal notes into the polling place as an aid to assist their voting. This information cannot be shared with other voters or left in the polling place.
