The mission of the Montague Police Department is to promote, preserve, and deliver quality services to the residents of Montague and to ensure the safety of all members of our community.
Community Policing is practiced daily by our agency and most of our officers reside in this community. Our officers work as a TEAM with our community members to solve our community issues. This TEAM approach allows us to make this a much safer community and it instills a sense of pride in all those that get involved.
The Montague Police Department provides a 24 hr 7 day a week service to the five villages of Montague. The Police Department is located in the Montague Public Safety Complex located at 180 Turnpike Road in Turners Falls, MA. The Police Department has the responsibility for maintaining a 24hr 7 day a week 911 Police Dispatch Center with continuous NCIC/CHSB interface with criminal justice agencies across the state and nation.
The Montague Police Department has the strength of 16 full time sworn police officers; comprised of 1 Chief of Police, 1 Lieutenant, 1 Staff Sergeant, 3 Sergeants, 2 Detectives, 7 Patrol Officers and 1 School Resource Officer. The Montague Police Department also has 4 full time civilian Dispatchers, 1 full time Dispatch Manager/Administrative Assistant for the Police Chief and 1 Animal Control Officer. In addition to its permanent staffing, the department has 10 sworn Reserve Police Officers.
